Traumatic hip dislocation appears through femoral head exiting the acetabular cavity following severe trauma. It is an orthopedic emergency and may be accompanied by acetabular fractures.
Symptom: Intense pain, total incapacity, abnormal position of the lower limb (shortened and internally or externally rotated).
Treatment: Emergency orthopaedic reductionunder anesthesia, followed by immobilization and radiologic monitoring. In complicated cases, surgery is required.
