Tibial plateau fracture affects the upper articular surface of the tibia and is important for knee stability and mobility. It is common in active personsaged 30-60.
Causes: Appears through indirect mechanism (fall from height) or direct mechanism (side impact).
Symptom: Severe knee pain, edem, joint locking and inability to support. Confirmation is done by X-ray and CT.
Treatment: Depending on the degree of damage: immobilization or surgical osteosynthesis. Gait retraining and physiotherapy are essential in recovery.
