Quadriceps tendon rupture occurs by sudden and forceful contraction of the quadriceps muscle and affects knee extension. It is more common in people over 40.
Symptom: Acute pain, inability to extend the knee, swelling and palpable depression in the upper patella.
Treatment: As a rule surgical - suture of the tendon, followed by immobilization and functional rehabilitation.
