Pseudoarthrosis of the neck is a late complication of a femoral neck fracture, occurring when the bone does not strengthen properly. The causes are related to damage to the vascularization of the femoral head and neck, severe trauma or imperfections in surgical treatment.
Symptom: Persistent hip pain, difficulty walking, abnormal mobility in the fracture zone or lack of progress in healing after surgery.
Treatment: Depending on the severity, it may be recommended surgical revision, internal fixation or even prosthetic replacement (arthroplasty). A detailed imaging assessment and a personalized recovery plan are essential.
