Metatarsalgia refers to pain in the forefoot area, particularly in the metatarsophalangeal joint. Morton's disease is a common form of metatarsalgia, caused by compression of an interdigital nerve.
Symptom: Burning or stinging pain between the fingers (usually between the 3rd and 4th), discomfort when walking and a "rock in your shoe" feeling.
Treatment: Recommended comfortable footwear, planting cushions, corticoid infiltrations. In persistent cases - Morton's neuroma excision surgical.
