Hallux rigidus is an arthrosis localized in the metatarsophalangeal joint of the hallux hallucis (big toe), characterized by movement limitation and pain mobilization. It is not associated with hallucus deflection.
Symptom: Pain when walking, especially during the propulsion phase, rigidity and difficulty wearing shoes.
Treatment: Originally Conservative - orthopedic footwear and infiltrations. In advanced stages surgery (cheilectomy or arthrodesis).
