Digital griffe, also known as hammer fingersis a deformity of the toes characterized by exaggerated flexion of the proximal interphalangeal joint. It is a condition commonly associated with flat forefoot or using inappropriate footwear.
Symptom: Pain when walking, beats on the finger protrusions and difficulty in stepping. In advanced forms, permanent joint stiffness may occur.
Treatment: Recommended comfortable footwear, orteze and, in severe cases, surgical correction of the affected finger.
