Cartilage lesions

Cartilage lesions is damage to the cartilage surface of a joint. Joint cartilage has no blood vessels and does not regenerate spontaneously, which makes these injuries difficult to treat.

Symptom: Localized pain, feeling stuck, swelling and decreased mobility joint. May occur following trauma, chronic wear or inflammatory conditions.

Treatment: Variety of options, depending on the size and location of the lesion: infiltrations, microfractures, cartilage transplant or mosaicplasty. The aim is to reduce pain and restore joint function.
