Holter EKG

Holter EKG (24-48h monitoring)

Holter monitoring allows heart rhythm to be recorded over an extended period, usually 24-48 hours, to identify possible rhythm disturbances.

It is useful in detection:

  • abnormal heartbeat,
  • too fast (tachyarrhythmias),
  • too slow (bradyarrhythmias),
  • myocardial ischemic episodes.

This investigation is essential in establishing an appropriate treatment, whether medicinal, interventional or surgical. It is particularly recommended for patients with symptoms suggestive of arrhythmias:

  • palpitations,
  • syncope,
  • loss of consciousness.

Fitting the device is simple and painless. Electrodes are applied to the skin, connected to a cell phone-sized device worn by the patient during monitoring.

After the registration period, the patient returns to the clinic to dismantle the equipment. The collected data is analyzed using specialized software for a complete interpretation of the ECG tracing.
